Internship opportunities doubled in three years in India: Report

Internship opportunities in the country have doubled in the last three years, as organizations are trying to equip young professionals with skills ready for the industry. This has been said in a report. A report by the Global Job Site Indid states that the internship has now become the center of attention of everyone as companies are gearing up to equip the young talents with real world skills.
According to the individ data, India saw a 103 percent increase in information (posting) for internships in the last three years (February 2022 to February, 2025), which underlines how industry is doubling the internship to bridge the gap between academic and industry expectations. The report of the indE is based on the analysis of data on its platform from February 2022 to February 2025.
It further stated that as industries are developing – especially AI, data analytics and digital changes, companies are using internships not only to provide practical experience, but are also using it to find and prepare top talent in the beginning.
Delhi, Karnataka and Maharashtra are at the forefront of the Internship Search (search), which holds 7.2 percent, 6.8 percent and 6.2 percent respectively in the total search. The report said that the average internship allowance in India is Rs 25,432 per month, but cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune and Gurugram pay more honorarium than this national average. On the other hand, cities like Chennai and Kolkata come to the lower level in this case.
