IPL 2025: Delhi signed replacement Mustifjur for 6 crores, but will not get full money, why, what is ‘Pro-Rata System’

New Delhi:
In the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), Delhi Capitals have signed Bangladeshi Lafti Pesar Mustifjur Rahman (Mustafizur Rahaman) for the remaining matches at a price of Rs 6 crore. With this amount, he has become a Bangladeshi cricketer to be contracted in the biggest amount, but despite this he will not get the full amount. Lafti Pacer has been replaced by Australian batsman Jack Frazer McGurk. Farazers returned to Australia for personal reasons. Jack Farazer was bought by Delhi for Rs 9 crore in auction, but Mustifjur Rahman has been bought by the franchise for Rs 6 crore. Let us tell you from detail why the replacement cannot get more money from the changed player, so why will Mustifjur not get full money.
What is the replacement rule
According to the rules of the tournament, the player who came in the season between the tournament is paid on the basis of ‘Pro-Reta System’. Based on the rule of the tournament, the replacement player cannot be charged more than the original player. This is the reason where 6 crores Mustifjur was brought in comparison to 9 crores of Jack Farazer. But it is also clear that Bangladeshi Pesar will not get the full six crore rupees. Mustifjur Rahman will get money based on the Pro-Reta System.
This is how ‘Pro-Rata System’ works
Based on this rule, the Pro-Reta System (proportional accordingly) payment is made. For this, fees are extracted from the formula:
Contract price (6 crore) (Guna, x) Number of matches (remaining 3 matches)/ (Part) Total number of matches (14) = Match fees
Mustifuzer will get so much money!
Now Delhi has to play three matches. In such a situation, if Mustifjur Rahman is available for all three matches, then even in the event of no match, he will get 1 crore, 28 lakh, 142 thousand rupees tax from the contract amount. If he plays, he will be paid Rs 7.50 lakh per match.
