Hyderabad:

India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami (Mohammed shami) It is believed that the step of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) to lift the ban on the use of saliva on the ball in IPL 2025 has restored the balance between the bat and the ball in this T20 league, which has been a cemetery for the bowlers for a long time. Before the start of the current session of the IPL, BCCI lifted the ban on the use of saliva to brighten the ball and the Os ‘two balls in the nights’ Rules implemented. This brought great relief to the bowlers who were advocating a change in bowling rules.

Shami said on ‘Geographstar’, ‘For a long time, rules have been in favor of batsmen, but now things are finally changing a bit.’ He said, ‘The ban on the use of saliva after Kovid made it difficult for the ball to reverse swing, but after it is removed, the bowlers may eventually get some swing back. Also, changing the wet ball is a big benefit situation- dry ball gives better grip and opportunity, especially in difficult circumstances. Interestingly, the BCCI implemented these changes a few days after Shami emphasized the importance of the use of saliva on the ball. Shami, who was out for more than a year due to a knee injury, said that it was difficult to achieve rhythm and mindset.

Shami said, ‘Injuries are part of a fast bowler’s life. It took me 14 months to recover and it was not easy. Especially during the domestic career, seeing the challenges I faced. It was difficult to achieve rhythm and right mentality. This fast bowler said, ‘In 2023, I suddenly got injured. So I decided to play as many home matches as possible. I played 12 or 13 matches. Along with the England series, it helped me regain confidence. When it comes to performance, I have always focused on giving my best. Soon after the best performance in the ODI World Cup held in Svadash in 2023, Shami was injured and stayed away from the game for a long time. Shami also spoke about his new franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad playing experience.

Shami said, ‘Sunrisers have completely changed my perspective. Which used to be a target of 200 runs now looks like 300. He has defined the game again. As far as my role is concerned, I want to be a part of a team that sets new standards and change the mindset. I think I have joined a strong team and I am focusing on giving my best contribution.

He said, ‘We have also created a strong bowling unit in Sunrisers. The best spinner for a solid fast bowling attack and supporting it. Overall, our bowling is very balanced now and those who think that Sunrisers are only about batting are wrong. Shami has also praised the leadership skills of Sunrisers captain Pat Cummins. He said that this Australian fast bowler specializes in handling both experienced international stars and young players.
