There are 20 South Africa players in this year’s edition of IPL 2025, but on Tuesday (May 13), eight of them have been selected in the team for the World Test Championship (WTC) finals to be held at Lord’s from June 11.
South African team team head coach Shukri Konrad said on Tuesday, “The initial agreement with IPL and BCCI was with the final on May 25, our players will return on 26th so that they can get enough time before flying on the 30th. Nothing has changed from our point of view.”
Conrad further said, “This is the ongoing conversation between people with higher pay scale people, ie Cricket Director (Hanok NKway) and Foletesi Moseki (CSA CEO), so they are dealing with it. But as the situation is, we are not backing on it, we don’t think. We want our players to come back on the 26th and hope that it will be successful.”
