Jagjit Singh was born on February 8, 1941 in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. His real name was Jagmohan Singh Dhiman. Jagjit’s family was from the Ropar district in Punjab. Jagjit Singh’s father, Sardar Amar Singh Dhamani, was an employee of the government and was interested in music. Jagjit inherited his father’s music. The emperor of Ghazal Jagjit began his Bollywood career in 1994 with the song “Babul Mora Naihar” from the film “Atishkar”.
