Joler Warikan made the truth to the father’s prediction, the ICC flew by breaking Varun’s dream

Jomel warrican won ICC mens player of the month for January 2025: West Indies spinner Joler Warikan has been given the title of ‘ICC Mains Player of the Month’ for January 2025. Warikan won the award on the basis of brilliant performance in Pakistan, during which he achieved the best figures of his career and won the West Indies his first Test in the Asian country in 35 years. Two other finest spinners of January competitions, Noman Ali of Pakistan and Varun Chakraborty of India have received this first ICC Mains Player of the Month Award.
The 32 -year -old player took 19 wickets in two Tests at an average of just 9.00 in this brilliant month. He became the first West Indies player to win the award after fellow spinner Gudkesh Moti in May 2024. In the first Test in Multan, he scored the best bowling figures of the 10–101 career and scored an unbeaten 31 runs. However, under the leadership of Sajid Khan’s 9-115, Pakistan defeated West Indies batsmen and won the match by 127 runs.
Warikan returned to the second Test at the same place. He first contributed with Willow, scored 36 runs at number 11. Then he rocked the ball, took four wickets in the first innings, which gave his team a slight lead. The contribution of 4-43 and 5-27 scored 18 more valuable runs in the second innings, and the spinner’s all-round valor won the historic 120 runs as well as the Player of the Series title.
‘It is an honor to win this award. This year, one of my goals was to take five wickets for the first time in Test cricket, but I did not think it would be so spectacular.
Warikan said, ‘I had made some special promise to my captain in this series, especially when my father, who is my biggest supporter, predicted a great performance for me. Multan has a special place in my heart, not only due to the historic victory of the West Indies, in which he defeated Pakistan out of the house, but also for winning this prestigious award.
