Kawasaki KLX 230: Kawasaki KLX 230 launched in India with switchable ABS and powerful features

Kawasaki India, which is taking the Indian two-wheeler market by storm, has launched its first road-legal dual-sport bike, the KLX 230. This bike is a great option for customers who want to experience riding on both road and off-road terrain. Equipped with modern features like disc brakes with switchable ABS and an all-LED lighting setup, the bike comes in two color options: Lime Green and Battle Gray.
The bike features a powerful yet slim design reminiscent of the company’s famous KLX series. The hexagonal headlight design and beak-like fenders give it a unique and aggressive look. The integrated seat is comfortable for long rides, and the 7.6-litre fuel tank is suitable for long distances. Additionally, the bike features a monochrome LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity to provide navigation and other important information to the rider. Optional lower seat makes it suitable for riders of various heights.

Competitor: Hero XPulse 200 4V and Royal Enfield Himalayan
In the Indian market, Kawasaki KLX 230 competes directly with Hero XPulse 200 4V and Royal Enfield Himalayan. Both these bikes have established their own identity among Indian riders.
The Hero XPulse 200 4V is priced at Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom) and although it is lightweight and has good mileage, it lags behind the KLX 230 in terms of power. At the same time, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is priced at Rs 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom) and has a powerful engine and great stability over long distances. However, their heavy weight can make them difficult off-road.
The Kawasaki KLX 230 is ahead of the curve in both of these segments with its lightweight body, advanced features and switchable ABS, while its premium price makes it suitable for a specific category of riders.
