KKR vs DC: “23.75 crore scam …” Venkatesh Iyer once again flopped and fans trolled on social media

Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Venkatesh Iyer, who was bought by the franchise for Rs 23.75 crore at the mega auction, failed to make a big score once again during the IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday. Venkatesh’s price tag made him an important player for KKR but his performance in this year’s tournament has been very disappointing so far. He scored just 135 runs in 9 matches before the match against Delhi Capitals. On Tuesday, Delhi captain Akshar Patel dismissed him for just 7 runs. In such a situation, Venkatesh Iyer came under target of fans on social media. Venkatesh had to be trolled for his form as well as his price tag.

A fan tweeted on Venkatesh Iyer’s wicket, “Venkatesh Iyer is no less than a scam of ₹ 23.75 crore.”

While another fan tweeted, “I am disappointed with you, Venkatesh Iyer. You are the weak link of this team.”

If we talk about the match, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 204 for nine wickets in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday in the Indian Premier League with a half -century partnership between Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Rinku Singh’s best innings and the two. Raghuvanshi (44 runs, 32 balls, three fours, two sixes) and Rinku (36 runs, 25 balls, three fours, one six) shared a 61 -run partnership for the fifth wicket, which managed to reach the challenging score. Openers Sunil Narayan (27) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (26) and captain Ajinkya Rahane (26) also played useful innings.

Mitchell Starc (three wickets for 43) was Delhi’s most successful bowler. Captain Akshar Patel (two wickets for 27) and leg spinner Vipraj Nigam (two wickets for 41) bowled effectively in the middle overs. Akshar won the toss and decided to bowl first, after which Narayan and Gurbaz (26) added 48 runs in three overs to give Knight Riders a fast start.

Gurbaz started Starc with two fours while Narayan hit two sixes and a four on Dushmanta Chamera (one wicket for 46 runs), scoring 25 runs in the over. Gurbaz hit two fours and a six in Stark’s next over but caught wicketkeeper Abhishek Porel on the last ball. Gurbaz faced 12 balls and hit five fours and a six.

Narayan completed the half -century of the team’s runs in the fourth over with fours on Mukesh Kumar. Rahane showed the attitude on Mukesh with two consecutive fours after hitting a six off Stark’s consecutive balls. Knight Riders scored 79 runs for one wicket in power play, which is his second best performance against Delhi.

Leg spinner Vipraj, however, lbw Narayan in the next over. He faced 16 balls and hit two sixes and as many fours. Akshar, in the next over, after holding Rahane, scored Knight Riders 91 for three wickets. Raghuvanshi took the team’s score to 100 runs in the ninth over with two consecutive sixes on Vipraj.

Venkatesh Iyer (07), however, waved the letter in the air in the next over and gave an easy catch to Vipraj. Raghuvanshi and Rinku then handled the innings. Rinku took the team’s score to 159 runs for four wickets with two fours and a six on Kuldeep Yadav in the 15th over.

Raghuvanshi caught Karun Nair off Chameera in an attempt to increase the run speed, while in the next over, Rinku also returned to the pavilion off Vipraj. Andre Russell (17) hit two consecutive fours on Chamera in the 19th over and completed a double century of the team’s runs with a six on Stark in the final over.
