Life is too short to finish bad TV shows. Embrace being a quitter

I was watching a Netflix series the other week – I won’t name it, but she had `Apple ” in the title and was about a woman of con – when I realized that I did not appreciate it. The story was sort of holes of the plot, even if it was based on real life. The game was hammered, but not funny. I had already invested four hours, however, so I was reluctant to admit defeat. But there were two more hours. Oh whatI thought, slamming the laptop and rubbing your eyes. Life is too short to watch bad television shows.

I have done it a lot lately. Note when I don’t actively like something, then I go away, even if I have already “invested” time and brain power. I made it two episodes from the end of Die for sex– That Michelle Williams Drama that started Punchy then became so miserable that I had to look through my fingers. I also did it with Youthe first two seasons that I thought was fun before going into pure River-Ton the style loop. I used to pass through, at least until all the stories are attached, but now I just feel … CBA (cost-to-dispatches). What about stories of my own life? Shouldn’t I invest instead in them?

When I praise the idea of leaving bad television shows, I don’t want it to be confused with its abandonment immediately before a series even begins. When we are so used to immediate gratuity, I think there can be a tendency to process television such as junk food – robust dopamine stings, before moving on to the next. But part of my favorite culture of all time was the one with which I persevered: Attach your enthusiasm,, Industry,, Succession… even Daisy Jones and the Sixwhich started to feel like absolute trash cans before slowly transforming into the greatest anti-love history of the 20th century (I am only slightly exaggerating). However, I think we can use our intuition here. If something looks like a Slog – a good slog – it’s probably a slog. There is no price to be won by hammering for no reason.
