Live Updates: “We have been cheating for more than 50 years”: Donald Trump will soon announce tariff

Think Tank Global Trade Research Initiative has warned that Donald Trump’s new tariffs can greatly affect Indian exports. According to the GTRI’s “mutual tariff and India” report, India may have to face an additional tax of 4.9% compared to the current 2.8%, which can affect areas such as agriculture, electronics and pharmaceuticals.
According to the report, “If the US imposes the same tariff on all the products coming from India, then it will be an additional 4.9%. Currently, American goods learn a weighted average tariff of 7.7% in India, while the US lends only 2.8% fee on Indian exports, making a difference of 4.9%.”
