Major demonstrations for monarchy and Hindu nation in Nepal, arson-path and curfew in three areas

There has been a lot of uproar in Nepal on the demand of monarchy and Hindu nation. On Friday, monarchy supporters staged a strong protest, after which curfew has to be imposed in three areas. The Nepal Police used tear gas and water showers to disperse the monarchy supporters. Eyewitnesses said that the protesters set fire to a house and tried to break the security barricades. At the same time, thousands of supporters of the monarchy raised slogans like “Raja Aao Desh Bachao”, “Corrupt Sarkar Murdabad” and “We want the monarchy back”, demanding the restoration of the king.

Curfew has been ordered in Tinkun, Sinamangal and Koteshwar areas of Kathmandu, Nepal. Policemen said, “Curfew order has been issued. You are requested to get out of this area as soon as possible.”
There was a clash between the monarchy supporters and the police near the airport. Also, the protesters attacked a TV station as well as the office of Communist Party of Nepal (Integrated Samajwadi).

Uncontrollable situation in Tinku area
The situation became uncontrollable in the Tinkun area. Thousands of supporters of the monarchy here raised slogans like “Raja Aao Desh Bachao” and “Corrupt Sarkar Murdabad” and “We want the monarchy back”, demanding the restoration of the monarchy.

The protesters set fire to a house in Tinkun area by taking pictures of Nepal’s national flag and former King Gyanendra Shah and clashed with the police during an attempt to break the barricades planted by the police. An eyewitness said that during this time a man was injured in the clash.
A large number of policemen deployed
Supporters and opponents of the monarchy staged different protests. Hundreds of policemen have been deployed in Kathmandu to prevent clashes.
At the same time, the protesters tried to move towards the banned area New Baneshwar, then the police detained many youths. The supporters of the monarchy participated in the protests.

The monarchy ended in 2008
Political parties of Nepal abolished the 240 -year -old monarchy in 2008 through Parliament and converted the then Hindu kingdom into a secular, federal, democratic republic. Former King Gyanendra appealed for support in his video message aired on Democracy Day on 19 March. Since then, his supporters have been demanding restoration of monarchy.

After this, hundreds of supporters of former King Gyanendra Shah took out a rally to welcome him in the capital. As soon as Gyanendra visited religious places in different parts of the country and reached Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from Pokhara, supporters started shouting slogans in their favor. The purpose of this rally was to showcase support for the re -establishment of the monarchy in Nepal.
Opponents of monarchy also gathered
On the other hand, thousands of monarchy under the leadership of Samajwadi Front gathered in anti -monarchy Bhrkutimandap and raised slogans like “Republic system immortal” and “take action against corrupt people” and “Rajshahi Murdabad”.
Political parties like Nepal’s Communist Party (Maoist Center) and CPN-Unified Socialist also participated in the anti-monarchy front.
