Malaria Vaccine By ICMR: Indian Council of Medical Research is creating a desi vaccine of ICAR Malaria, so that malaria can be eliminated in the next few years.

Economic Times According to the Indian Council of Medical Research Research has partnered for this with its Regional Medical Research Center, Bhubaneswar and National Malaria Research Institute with the Department of Biotechnology-National Institute of Immunity (DBT-NII). Edfalcivex Adfalcivax is the first indigenous malaria vaccine which is specially designed by targeting two important stages of Plasmodium Falciparum. This parasitic causes the most deadly form of malaria. This vaccine is designed to protect humans from infection and reduce the spread of mosquito -borne infections in the community. It will be the world’s most advanced and sophisticated malaria vaccine.
The vaccine created by ICMR will give wide security by targeting two weak stages of parasites. There will be no scope for escape from the immune system. This will increase the possibility of providing better immunity for a long time. It is also easy to store this vaccine. It can be stored anywhere at normal temperature for nine months. This vaccine is produced in lactococcus lactis. Its purpose is not only to protect the individual human, but also to reduce the vicious cycle of infection at the community level. It is considered one of the world’s most advanced malaria vaccines, which is logically designed keeping in mind the two major stages of the parasite. This vaccine is a stable and functional recreational chemical combination (chimaera) between antigenic components, which provides dual protection. ICMR is planning to license the technology of this vaccine to eligible institutions and manufacturers so that it can be further developed, constructed and commercialized. The purpose of this strategy is to spread this vaccine to more people and maximize public health benefits.
When will this vaccine get
The development of Adfalcivax will fulfill the Make in India Mission and it will contribute significantly to the eradication of malaria by stopping the infection and reducing the spread of the community level.
