He was the ideal of Indian cinema which was specially known for his spirit of patriotism and he also reflected in his films.” Modi said that Kumar’s films have awakened the spirit of national pride and would continue to inspire the generations to come. Kumar, who received the “Dadasaheb Phalke” prize for his remarkable contribution in the cinema world, was also known for his successful films like “Do Badan”, `Hariyali and Rasta ‘and’ Gumnam ‘. Born in a Hindu family Punjabi in Abbottabad City (now Pakistan) in independent India, the name of his birth was Harikrishna Goswami. His family then moved to Delhi and Kumar finished his diploma from the Hindu college.
