Many vehicles submerged, house damaged … storm caused havoc in America, now warning of flood

In the middle-west and some areas of the US, a horrific storm has caused widespread destruction, which has severely affected the common life. The roofs of the houses flew away due to the storm, electric poles and trees fell. The Meteorological Department has appealed people to stay in homes.

The National Meteorological Service has issued a flood warning in the south and central-west of the US, as a powerful tornado has engulfed the country from Texas to Michigan, in which 2 people have died. About 15 million people are in the grip of storm from Ohio to Mississippi, including Nashville, Tennessi and Tupelo, Mississippi. About 6 million people are directly vulnerable to the storm.

According to the Meteorological Department, the strong storm will continue and the storm may come at a speed of 75 mph. Due to this, a radio tower has fallen in Indiana. Many vehicles have been submerged in Indianapolis and houses have been damaged in Arkansas. Apart from this, more than 200,000 people are not getting electricity in Indiana, Arkansas, Missouri and Mississippi.

Emergency has been declared in many areas due to the storm and the weather remains dangerous. The National Meteorological Department has warned that due to the powerful storm, there will be a threat of floods till Saturday and more than 30 centimeters of rain is likely in the next four days.

A study by Climate Central found that since 1970, climate change has increased the rate of rainfall per hour in 90% of the US cities. Apart from this, according to Aqueder, the 1,000 miles long area from Texas to Ohio will receive four months of rain in five days.
