Masood Azhar’s brother dies in Operation Sindoor, Rauf was the mastermind of Kandahar Hijack

According to the officials, Rauf’s role in plotting the Indian flight IC-814 kidnapping was directly convenient by Rauf’s role in Al-Qaeda, Omar Saeed Sheikh. Sheikh later kidnapped and murdered an American-judicial journalist from Wall Street Journal, Daniel Pearl. The brutal murder of Pearl in 2002 shook the world. Rauf was considered the main accused in this 814 case.

What was the Kandahar hijack case?

On December 24, 1999, the Indian Airlines flight IC 814 hijacked the terrorists to Kandahar in Afghanistan. Passengers were kept hostage there. In this case, there was a demand for release of 36 terrorists and Rs 860 crore. In the case of this entire hijack, Masood Azhar’s brother Abdul Rauf Azhar was considered to be Mastmind.
