Mohammad Rizwan: ‘In front of your community …’, Mohammad Rizwan’s statement created a sensation in the cricket world after the match was canceled

Mohammad rizwan statement after abandoned match against bangladesh: The ninth match of the group stage of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was to be played today (27 February 2025) at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi between Pakistan and Bangladesh. But this match could not be completed due to rain. In view of the continuous bad weather, the umpires finally decided to cancel the match. After which the captains of both the teams looked quite disappointed. After the match, Pakistani captain Mohammad Rizwan shared his view and said, ‘We wanted to do well and wanted to show good games in front of our community, expectations were very high. We did not perform well and it is disappointing for us.

Rizwan carried forward his point and said, ‘You can learn from your mistakes. We have made mistakes in the last few matches. Hopefully, we will learn from them. Our next tour is of New Zealand. Where we will try to perform better. The mistakes we made against New Zealand in Pakistan will take lessons from them and will try to show good games in New Zealand.

He said, ‘The players who have been doing well in Australia, South Africa and Zimbabwe for the last few months, when they suddenly get injured, the balance of the team deteriorates. As a captain, you also have to pay attention to it. On one hand you can say that the team was disturbed, but this is no excuse. Yes, Fakhar Zaman and Saim Job were injured, but we have to learn from it.

On the question of bench strength, Rizwan replied, ‘This is a very difficult question. Pakistan’s bench strength I have to see five teams of Pakistan Cup. We need to improve different things. If we have to improve and take Pakistan to a high level, then we need awareness and professionalism. We see its level in the Champions Trophy, but more improvement is needed.

Expressing the disappointment of being out of the league stage itself, Rizwan said, ‘We are all very disappointed, we are all here for our fans. Pakistan is our priority and people’s expectations are very high from us. We are sad and believe that we did not perform well. Hopefully, we will work hard and return.

Rizwan made it clear that this is a difficult time for the team, but he will not give up and will work hard for a strong return. (With Arindam’s input)
