Myanmar Earthquake: Team of 118 people, 15 tonnes of relief material … India sent help to Myanmar through ‘Operation Brahma’

After the disastrous earthquake in Myanmar on Friday, the Indian Army has deployed a special medical task force under ‘Operation Brahma’ to provide immediate humanitarian aid. Shatrujit Brigade Brigade Medical Responders, 118-member expert team, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Jagneet Gill, soon left for Myanmar for the supply of necessary medical equipment and food items. The Airborn Angels Task Force is fully trained and equipped to provide advanced medical and surgical services in disaster affected areas.

Under this campaign, the Indian Army will set up a 60-bed medical treatment center in the site, where the injured will be provided immediate medical assistance. This center will conduct serious trauma (trauma) cases, emergency surgery and other necessary medical services, which will provide relief to the badly affected local health system from this disaster.

This humanitarian aid realizes India’s first neighboring country aid policy and ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ i.e. ‘The whole world is a family’ eternal Indian ideology. The Indian Army’s commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with the friendly countries at the time of crisis shows that India is playing its role as a major assistant country in the region with great efficiency.

This deployment has been organized in close coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs and it is being conducted with mutual support between the Government of India and the officials of the Government of Myanmar.

S Jaishankar wrote, “Operation Brahma, INS Satpura and INS Savitri left for Yangon port with 40 tons of human assistance.” In another tweet, he informed that the 80 -member NDRF search and rescue team also left for Napyi Taw. These parties will help in rescue operations in Myanmar.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday spoke to Senior General of Myanmar, His Excellency Min Aung Having. He said that India stands with solidarity with the people of Myanmar in this difficult time.

In a post on X, Modi said, “Talked to Myanmar’s Senior General Majesty Min Aung Having. He expressed his deep condolences on the deaths in the devastating earthquake. As a close friend and neighbor, India stands with solidarity with the people of Myanmar in this difficult time. Operation is being sent fast in the affected areas under Operation Brahma.

Myanmar and neighboring Thailand led to a high -intensity earthquake on Friday, destroying buildings, bridges and other infrastructure and killed a large number of people.

On Saturday, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Randhir Jaiswal said in a post that as part of ‘Operation Brahma’, India worked as the first actor to assist the people of Myanmar affected by the fierce earthquake of Friday. Our first consignment of 15 tonnes of relief materials including tents, blankets, sleeping bags, food packets, hygiene kits, generators and essential medicines has reached Yangon. ”

A 7.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in Myanmar on Friday afternoon, after this earthquake near Sagiing, 12 shocks of 2.8 to 7.5 magnitude were felt, causing the situation to worse in the affected areas. The information team of the State Administration Council of Myanmar has informed that 1,002 people were killed in the earthquake, 2,376 people were injured and 30 people are still missing.
