According to the media outlet, after hearing the case for seven years, a Mumbai court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant in Verma’s name.

According to a report in Telangana Today, the director was found guilty by the court under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, which provides for punishment for “dishonor of a check for insufficiency of funds or account balance exceeding the prescribed amount. . The director will also have to pay ₹3.75 lakh as compensation to the complainant. If he fails to pay the amount within three months, he will be imprisoned for another three months.

A check bouncing case was filed against RGV Company in 2018 by a company named Shree through Maheshchandra Mishra. In June 2022, the director was released on bail after furnishing a personal bond and a security deposit of ₹5,000. The sentencing magistrate reportedly clarified that there would be no “compensation” under article 428 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, since RGV “was not in custody during the trial.”
