Russia and Ukraine agreed to 30 -hour Easter ceasefire after a three -year war. But violence did not stop even in those 30 hours. Both accused each other of violating the ceasefire. Regional Ukrainian officials said on Monday that Russia has resumed air strikes on eastern and southern Ukraine after the 30 -hour deadline was over. “The Russian Army has launched drones in the region,” said Sergei Lisak, regional governor of Ukraine’s Drypatros.
He said that a house was damaged and a food establishment caught fire but no one was reported injured.
At the same time, Governor Vitali Kim of the southern Mycolive region of Ukraine said that Russian air strikes have started there. He wrote, “On the morning of 21 April, around 4:57 pm, the enemy attacked the city with missiles. What kind of attack was being determined. There was no casualties or damage.”
Ukraine accused Russia of ceasefire violation
Ukraine’s President Wloadimir Jailonsci said late Sunday night that Russia violated a total of 1,882 times, out of which 812 included heavy weapons. The President said that the heaviest shelling and attacks occurred near the city of Pokrovsk in Eastern Ukraine, a major logistics center in the Donetsk region.
Jailonsky said, “We will do the same as to be done with Ukrainian: We will answer silence with silence, our attacks will be to protect ourselves from Russian attacks.”
Earlier on Sunday, he said, referring to every day drone and missile attacks against Ukraine against Ukraine, “There was no warning of an airstrike”. He proposed “Civil infrastructure using long -distance drones and missiles on a civil infrastructure for a period of at least 30 days”.
