Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have filed a case of fraud of 60 crores, accused of personal use of funds

What is the case against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra?
According to the first reports, the businessman Deepak Kothari accused the couple he took Rs 60.48 crores of 2015 and 2023 for the expansion of their business, but used this money for private expenses. Kothari says that in 2015, he came into contact with the couple through an agent named Rajesh Arya. At the time, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra were the directors of an online shopping platform called Best Deal TV, and Shetty would have had more than 87% of the company’s shares.
Arya would have approached Kothari and would have asked for a loan of 75 comprehensive compulsory for the company at an annual interest rate of 12%. However, to avoid high interest rates, he suggested that the amount be “investing” and assured that the money would be reimbursed in time.

In April 2015, Kothari transferred the first episode of RS 31.95 crore. Subsequent tax problems were revealed and another agreement was signed in September 2015. Kothari said that between January 2015 and March 2016, he transferred an additional RS 28.54.
Overall, Kothari claims that he transferred more than Rs 60.48 crosses for the agreement, as well as Rs 3.19 Lakh as a buffer cost. He said that in April 2016, Shilpa Shetty personally guaranteed reimbursement, but in September the same year, she resigned from her post as director of the company.
Shortly after, a case of bankruptcy of Rs 1,28 crore was revealed against the company, which Kothari alleges that he has never been informed. Despite repeated refund requests, no measure has been taken.
Subsequently, Kothari filed a complaint at the Juhu police station, after which a case of cheating was recorded against Shilpa Shetty and Raj KURANDRA. The case is currently under investigation by the branch of economic offenses of the Mumbai police.

Prashant Patil, lawyer for Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, said: “My clients were informed by a particular class of electronic media and printed according to which an alleged affair was registered against my clients in the branch of economic offenses, Mumbai.
