Shilpa Shetty’s sheer white sari from Manish Malhotra was an ode to her Dhadkan character
The character of Shilpa Shetty Anjali of the successful film Dhadkan was stylish in a range of ivory and white offers amplified with subtle lace notes. In tribute to the emblematic character and history, Shetty returned while Manish Malhotra’s muse walks on the track with the actor of yesteryear Mumtaz, Urmila Matondkar and Khushi Kapoor.

Shetty’s look for the evening was a sari mm austere white filled with work with Tonal Chikankari, textured glitter, fragile acorns through its border and a blouse on several levels with layers of pearls. The Sari included Mijwan craftsmanship; A technique born from a small village in Uttar Pradesh which has become synonymous with the design codes of Malhotra. The technique uses embroidery sewn by hand to form fragile paisley and floral patterns, giving the impression of being one with the fabric.
The stars that walked on the Malhotra show presented distinct aspects of the designer’s diversified wheelhouse with Mumtaz in a black sari Georgette with multi-tapered embroidery, Matondkar in a Corset-Sari in Crimson and Kapoor satin in a Bejeweled draped with a rocket embroidery and thick.
