Squid Game 2 removed from Netflix’s number one spot, this new show takes top spot
Squid Game 2 arrived on Netflix in the last week of December after a long hiatus since its predecessor. The first season of Squid Games was a huge success, gaining a cult following all over the world. It has maintained its top position ever since its second season appeared on the platform.

Well, things have changed a lot since January 6th, when the new show premiered on Netflix. On January 6, 2025, World Wrestling Entertainment’s (WWE) hit television show, Monday Night Raw, aired on a digital platform for the first time ever. In the US region, the first episode of Raw took Squid Game 2 to the top of the Top 10 Shows list.

Last year, WWE and Netflix reportedly inked a deal worth more than billions of dollars. Per the deal, Netflix will be the new home of Monday Night Raw. Not only this, all events and specials that take place outside the United States will be streamed on this platform, including series, documentaries, and other programs. This contract will last for 10 years.
Netflix’s Raw debut episode
The first episode of Netflix’s Raw was nearly three hours long and featured veteran stars like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and John Cena. This episode also marked the official start of a breakup year for John Cena.
In the ring, the superstar said he will make his final year as a performer with the troupe a memorable one. Cena also stated that he will first compete in the Royal Rumble match and if he wins, he will earn a spot in the main event at the next WrestleMania.
