SRH vs DC: Pat Cummins’s name recorded in the pages of IPL history, the first captain to make such a maharkord in 17 years

Pat Cummins P Three Wickets in PowerPlay: Pat Cummins did the feat in the 55th match of IPL 2025 against Delhi Capitals at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, which no captain had been able to do before. In the do or die match for Hyderabad, Cummins lead the team from the front and won the toss and gave the initial shocks to Delhi after the decision to bowl first. Pat Cummins took the wicket of Karun Nair on the very first ball of the match. After this, he took the wicket of Faf du Plessis on the first ball of his second over and Abhishek Porel on the first ball of the third over. Ishaan Kishan caught these three catches behind the wicket. Along with these three wickets, Pat Cummins created history.
Pat Cummins made Maharikord
Pat Cummins is the first captain in the history of 17 years of IPL to have three wickets in the first powerplay. Nobody could do this before them. The first powerplay was earlier the best performing captain Akshar Patel, who took 2 wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. Cummins has taken 3 wickets against Delhi giving 12 runs.
Hyderabad’s sharp bowling
Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by captain Pat Cummins (3 wickets for 19), stopped Delhi Capitals for 137 for seven in 20 overs in IPL matches on Monday. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and bowled first and pushed Delhi Capitals on the backfoot. Pat Cummins took three wickets on the first ball of the first three overs and then did not stop the wickets even after that, due to which Delhi had to bring Ashutosh Sharma in the end of all. However, the half -century partnership between Ashutosh and Triston Stabs brought Delhi to a respectable score.
Batting first after losing the toss, Delhi started very bad and Delhi lost their four wickets by adding 26 runs in the six over powerplay. Cummins hunted Karun Nair on the first ball of the match. He then showed the path of the pavilion to Faf Duplesey and Abhishek Porel on the first balls of the next two overs. Harshal Patel dismissed captain Akshar Patel in the sixth over.
KL Rahul scored 10 runs in 14 balls but was caught by the wicketkeeper on the ball of Jaydev Unadkat. Delhi lost its fifth wicket at a score of 29. Stabs shared a 33 -run partnership in 30 balls with Vipraj Nigam. Vipraj was run out after scoring 18 runs in 17 balls with a fours and a six. Stabs again added 66 runs off 45 balls for the seventh wicket with Ashutosh to reach Delhi to 137. Triston hit four fours in an unbeaten 41 off 36 balls while Ashutosh scored two fours and three sixes in 41 off 26 balls.
