Stock Market Holidays 2025: The festival of Mahashivratri (Mahashivratri 2025) is to be celebrated across the country today i.e. on Wednesday, 26 February. In such a situation, there is a question in the minds of investors who trades in the stock market whether the stock market will remain closed on this day or will open market open or close today? If you are thinking like this, then this news is for you.

According to Bombay Stock Exchange’s Holiday Calendar 2025, the stock market will be closed on the occasion of Mahashivratri on 26 February 2025. That is, on this day you will not be able to buy and sell any kind of shares. After this, the stock market will open directly on February 27, 2025 and in this session you can do stock trading like normal days.

Along with this, there will be no business in the derivatives market. This is the first holiday of the stock market in the calendar year of 2025.

When will the stock market stop? (Stock Market Holidays 2025)

The same, after 26 February, now on the occasion of the stock market Holi, 14 March, 31 March on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, 10 April on the occasion of Shri Mahavir Jayanti, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti on 14 April and Good Friday on 14 April and Good Friday on the occasion of Jayanti. In 2025, the Indian stock market (BSE and NSE) will remain closed for 14 days. The first market of the year will be on Holiday Mahashivratri. This is followed by the upcoming market (NSE Holidays 2025) holidays:

  • Holi – Friday, March 14
  • Eid-ul-Fitr-Monday, March 31
  • Mahavir Jayanti – Thursday, 10 April
  • Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti – Monday, April 14
  • Good Friday – Friday, 18 April
  • Maharashtra Day – Thursday, May 1
  • Independence Day – Friday, August 15
  • Ganesh Chaturthi – Wednesday, August 27

Apart from this, there will be some more holidays throughout the year, which will keep a total of 14 market holidays. There will be no trading in the stock market these days.

Stock market continues to decline for last several days

The Indian stock market has been seeing a decline for the last several days and on Tuesday, a flat closed amid mixed signals. At the end of the trading, the Sensex rose by 147.71 points or 0.20 percent to close at 74,602.12 and the Nifty fell 5.80 points or 0.03 percent to close at 22,547.55.
