Terrorist becoming President and America’s recognition… How did Trump change the entire middle East’s geopolitics, understand

Donald Trump is in the Middle East on the first official foreign trip of his second term, and many strategic equations are changing, new -fed together. Donald Trump has created history by meeting Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Shara in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, 14 May. Among all his meetings and conversations on this tour, this meeting of President Trump was certainly the most important and has given a new shape to the Bhurajnical scenario of Central and West Asia.
Why is the world looking carefully on this?
When President Trump met President Al-Shra, the world which has been shocked to some extent is his suspicious background. Till recently, Ahmed al-Shara was known as his nickname Abu Mohammad al-Julani (also known as al-Golani or al-Julani). He was a terrorist banned by a United Nations and nominated by the US.
In the last two decades, Al-Julani held major positions in global terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda and ISIS. According to the United Nations Security Council i.e. UNSC’s ‘ISIS and Al Qaeda Ban Samiti’, in July 2013, Abu Mohammad Al-Julani was declared a global terrorist for “financing, planning, facilitating or participating in terrorist work, participating in preparation or participating”.
From global terrorist to Syrian President
According to this UNSC restriction committee, Al-Julani was blamed for “supply, selling or transfer” as well as “recruitment” for Al Qaeda and ISIS. It was found that he directly coordinated with the then Al Qaeda chief Aiman al-Jawahiri and later the immediate ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Bagdadi.
In 2012, Al-Julani founded the Al-Nusara front, officially known as Jabat Fatah Al-Sham. It is a terrorist group nominated by the United Nations which officially became the Al Qaeda branch in Syria. By then, the rebellion in Syria, which began in 2011 with a peaceful protest, had turned into a revolution with a large scale protest against the then President Bashar al-Assad’s bathist dictatorship.
Russia and Iran support Assad rule
In 2017, Jabat Fatah al-Sham re-branded himself as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham or HTS. Its main objective was to overthrow the Assad rule led by Bashar al-Assad and establish an Islamic Khalifa.
In these years, the revolution in Syria turned into an armed struggle before turning into a complete civil war, and gradually making its grip throughout the country. In November 2024, a sudden and massive attack led by Al-Julani’s HTS. Due to this, the Assad regime lost large land including its strongest stronghold cities.
America increased access to Syria
The second reason for the controversy over Donald Trump’s meeting with Ahmed al-Shara is that the US President has announced that he has been lifting all the restrictions imposed on Syria, which have been engaged since 1979.
According to the US State Department, Syria and Assad rule were banned in 1979 after the country was named “State Sponsor of Terrorism” to give “political and military support to various terrorist groups”. The 2019 update said, “The government continued to give weapons and political support to Hizbollah and allow Iran to re -organize and fund the terrorist organization.”
Rolls of Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince MBS
The third reason that has caught the attention of the world is that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman suggested and arranged a meeting between President Trump and President Al-Sara. After the meeting, Donald Trump admitted that Saudi Shahi played an important role in the decisions taken today.
In addition to the removal of all the restrictions, Donald Trump’s meeting and then a White House statement made it clear that the US has recognized and legalized the new regime in Syria. During the meeting of both the heads of the state, President Trump said, “Syria is entitled to a chance of peace under al-Sharra rule.”
After this, a meeting started in a closed room, during which President Trump encouraged President Al-Shra to do good work for the Syrian people. The US President also urged him to sign the Abraham agreement with Israel and take out all foreign terrorists from Syria.
Turkish angle and bay support
The fourth reason for the importance of this meeting for Asia was that Turkish President Erdogan was associated with Donald Trump and Al-Shara in Syria on a phone call during his meeting.
Many Gulf countries have also given their support to the new Syrian regime. He is seeing this new Syrian rule as an answer to Iran. Tehran -backed Assad is now limited to history books.
Israeli warns America
Israel is not happy with the United States of recognizing Ahmed al-Shra as the Syrian President. Tel Aviv has warned Washington to give validity to the new government due to its terrorist background.
But with the lifting of the ban and this historic meeting, a new era has started in the Middle East and West Asia. Ahmed Al-Shra is perhaps the most amazing change in geopolitical history, until the new President of Syrian became the new President of Syrian. Especially when America has recognized him.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry has described today’s announcement of Donald Trump as a “critical turn” in the country’s visit to the country. A statement issued by his Foreign Office said, “The removal of these restrictions gives Syrian an important opportunity to carry forward stability, self -reliance and meaningful national reconstruction under the leadership of Syrian people.”
