The game changed in 4 years … Why are you sweating the sweat of Pakistani generals due to India’s Taliban diplomacy

If you go to kill the snake, then put a stick in one hand and be a bean in the other hand. When needed, snakes dance and when they move forward, they should be killed. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Kashmir, India has taken Pakistan under target. Islabad is afraid that when India starts its military action on the border. In such a situation, India is extracting the smartest strategic strategy from the book of Diplomacy and is implementing it. The Government of India is eyeing Afghanistan at the other end of Pakistan. New Delhi has contacted Kabul himself to highlight the connection of Islamabad in the Pahalgam attack.

Joint Secretary Anand Prakash at the Foreign Ministry’s Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran (PAI) division met Afghan’s acting Foreign Minister Mawalvi Amir Khan Mottaki in Kabul on 27 April and discussed political relations and regional development. Even before the Indian messenger reached Kabool, the Taliban rule condemned this heinous attack who killed 26 people and has asked India to take strict action against its criminals. This bet to reach the Taliban of India will be emphasizing on the muscle of the generals of the Pakistani Army.

Taliban’s return and its dispute with Pakistan increased

Taliban ruled in Afghanistan once again with the return of the US Army in 2021. After this, Pakistan felt that the neighbor got good. The then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, compared the Taliban’s return to power to the Afghans with “breaking the shackles of slavery”. But this honeymoon period did not last long. Relationships began to appear with the Taliban rule.

With the success of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the armed rebellion has been transferred to Pakistan. Since 2022, terrorist attacks on Pakistani security and police forces have increased rapidly- especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces. Most of the attacks are claimed by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

TTP and Afghan Taliban have formed symbiotic relations for years, that is, they have been supporting each other. It is unlikely that the Taliban will accept any Pakistani demand for action against TTP fighters present in the border areas of Afghanistan. The reason for this is that such action will deteriorate the balance of the Taliban with TTP and open space for other extreme groups like the Islamic State Khorasan province (ISKP).

India has strengthened relations with new Taliban rule

In January itself, India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt met the Taliban acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaki in Dubai. This was the top level meeting between the two countries after the 2021 possession of Kabul. In that meeting, the Taliban government called India a “important regional and economic power” and talked about strengthening political and economic relations with it.

Even after Pakistan’s hand in the Pahalgam attack, India has reached the Taliban. In such a situation, it is clear that Delhi has now given the real validity to the Taliban leadership that it had sought from the international community since returning to power. Afghanistan becomes important for India due to being settled at the other end of Pakistan.

India’s constant relations with Afghanistan, whether a civilian government or Taliban rule, reflects a permanent geopolitical reality. Whatever the nature of governance in Kabul, there has been a natural warmth in the relationship between Delhi and Kabul. The Taliban which has been considered special for a long time, is seen in that relationship and India is engaged in strengthening the relationship with it by showing strategic understanding.

Taliban is an old player, India will have to keep an eye on

If there is the biggest danger in strengthening the relationship with the Taliban, then it is the Taliban itself. The truth is that he is a violent and cruel ruler sitting in the neighborhood of Pakistan, who has close ties with international terrorist groups (many of which are in Pakistan). He has made very little effort to improve himself even today as compared to the 1990s. India hopes that it should keep the Taliban in its court and in return, do not weaken the Taliban India or its interests and talk in its favor. And this can also be true. But the question is, can we really trust the Taliban?

In order to deal with this situation, we talk about the premature thinking in diplomacy, that is, not taking decisions from emotions and taking logical steps by understanding the exaggeration of the time. If the Taliban works to punish Pakistan for its crimes, then that step is right. Eventually the enemy’s enemy friend who is considered.
