Stressing Hassan’s praise for Kannada’s culture, the lawyer said: “This result came out of a given statement during an audio launch. Kamal clearly indicated that his love for the language is true. We should appreciate it.” Judge Nagprasanna replied: “It is not a constraint to apologize. It should be a humility that he should have followed.” He said: “There are many ways to clarify statements but only one way to apologize.” Reiterating Hasan’s deep respect for the language of Karnataka and people, the lawyer said that his client had made the statement “with the greatest honesty of his heart”.
However, the court did not agree. Judge Nagprasanna commented: “You are categorical about the ego. It is to underestimate the feelings of the people.”Reacting to the judge’s remarks, he said: “He is not an ego.” “An explanation was given. There was no intention to insult the language,” said the lawyer, guaranteeing that the apology is only necessary when they are malicious.
After that, the court clearly asked: “So why was it not finished apologizing?” He also said that this statement seemed “as a justification”.
Calling to close the case, the lawyer said: “We want the question to end. Everyone has to survive this industry.
Judge Nagprasanna replied: “No one is talking about dividing the country.” The lawyer concluded: “What he had to say. If the situation is like that, he does not want to release the film in Karnataka.” The High Court, while registering that the petitioners are not currently eager to publish the film in Karnataka, accepted the request for adjournment to a conversation between all the parties concerned. The next hearing of the case was adjourned on June 10 at 3.30 p.m.
