On March 8, all routes in Manipur will be opened three weeks after the central rule after Biren Singh’s long-awaited resignation. The plan is to deliver two national transport buses to the Kangpokpi and Churachandpur regions.
But the clashes in Gamgiphai (Kangpokpi) saw security forces using force against protesters. A community organization said 70 people were injured and 48 women were present. The question is, why are there protests? Why did the police manipulate protesters? This just shows a huge rift between two major communities in Manipur and one with the state police – all due to Biren Singh allowing Biren Singh to serve for 21 months following the outbreak of violence in Manipur in May 2023.
