This California bride repurposed her mother’s sangeet outfit for her Jaipur wedding

For their Vatna or Haldi ceremony, the couple decided to organize an Holi celebration so that their guests sounded in the festival which was just at the corner of the street. The funny affair saw a colorful display while they maccou Gulal. “We also wanted to honor our Punjabi culture, so we called on Raunaki girls, a group of folk singers, to interpret traditional Haldi and Mehndi songs,” explains Bedi.
In the evening, the families gathered for the ceremonies of Baraat and Jaimala while Walia made a horse entrance. He cut an elegant silhouette in a Sherwani personalized by the border heritage and a fishing turban. The details featured nine lions embroidered on the outfit, as well as the initials of Bedi’s father on the Channel of his Kurta.
The bride reused her mother’s Sangeet outfit by transforming Lehenga into Sharara and adding a new Chunni and Kurta with heavier gold embroidery. The fabric of orange, pink and gold fabrics has lent a glamorous but traditional touch to its look. “I did everything with Kajal, a red Bindi, fresh Gajra and hair chains – with regard to the Indian bride par excellence. I went out with my brothers, holding my mother’s marriage to me. This outfit was by far the most sentimental for me, ”she reveals. The celebration was made bigger while the Quawal Niazi Nizami brothers played that evening.
The couple chose Sabyasachi for their sacred ceremony Anand Karaj. Dressed in a lehenga and ivory sherwani, they opted for a cohesive and sophisticated look for their special day. “I wanted to feel like a princess, and this Lehenga was ethereal. Nausher’s outfit had a classic and sophisticated silhouette, ”she adds. Bedi has accessorized his outfit with a Maang Tikka, Nath and Classic Gold Kaleeras and Chooda, as well as a Polki set with rubies. She completed her look with an elegant and feminine makeup of Sneha Chowdhary.
The festivities ended with a reception dinner where the bride wore a dark red gujral Lehenga, and the groom opted for a white and black tuxedo by Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna associated with Moccasins Christian Louboutin. “We danced until 5 am while Manj Musik occurred live. Our marriage looked like a fusion between the Hollywood Vibrations of California with a traditional Punjabi flavor in Jaipur,” said Bedi.
