This couple’s wedding at a 1,000-year-old Tuscan estate unfolded like a love letter to Italy and India
“The design of my wedding felt like my Pinterest mood board … Only steroids,” said Aashna Lalwani, an entrepreneur and co -founder based in Mumbai and co -founder of the decor and design studio, Three Entertainment. She had always dreamed of a vineyard wedding and when the time came to marry Saahil Anand, a finance consultant she met through a friend three years ago, a marriage in Italy looked like natural choice. “We have always loved its beauty, its charm and this rustic and cinematic campaign. We wanted to create an experience that plunged our guests into a world of culture, fashion, food, wine and history, ”she shares. Their location chosen? Il Borro, a medieval hamlet of 1000 years old, has become a luxury field in Tuscany, belonging to the Ferragamo family.
Against rolling vineyards and stone paths, two -day wedding in Italy was an immersive dive in Italian culture, superimposed on personal rituals and a modern Indian aesthetic. Each event has been shaped by an emblematic Italian reference – Under the Tuscan sun has Italian work“But redesigned through their own objective. “It was never a question of choosing a culture rather than the other. Rather, we wanted to mix the Indian and Italian worlds in a way that seems authentic to us, ”she shares.
The celebrations opened with a Dolce Vita– Inspired lunch: Tables bordered by sun, lemon scent and a quiet afternoon straight out of a Fellini setting. That evening, they exchanged the traditional sangeet for a Milan style cocktail evening and a wine tasting in the nineteenth century cellar in the estate. The guests passed in front of candle barrels in an outdoor amphitheater, dressed in their most vigant looks. Aashna wore a personalized Hussein Bazaza combination with a detachable cape and skirt; Saahil chose a suede three -piece costume stylish by dressed and adapted by Rajesh Pratap Singh.
The next afternoon, preparations for the Baraat and the Pheras were underway in the hope that time would not play Sport. “We were sandwiched between a week of thunderstorms, but that day, there was not a single cloud in sight. The sun shone on us like a quiet blessing, and it seemed honestly that the universe was in the celebration,” reveals the bride.
The wedding ceremony was theme as “Pheras under the Tuscan sun”, where the Italian garden in the estate was transformed into a serene setting. The Mandap, framed by olive branches and flowers in soft tones, was placed in the natural Tuscan backdrop. The guests received pockets of petals and ceremonial booklets detailing their wishes, while Ashna walked in the aisle to live, accompanied by her father, brother, mother and grandmother.
