Basic locking process
1. Go to the Uidai website
First go to the official website of Uidai. Here, you will get many options that will have a section called Aadhaar Services.
2. Connection
Now click on “Connect yourself” and log in using OTP via your AADHAAR number and the Liaison Mobile number. OTP will come to your mobile number, which you can enter and enter the website.
3. Choose an Aadhaar locking / unlocking option
After connection, go to “Aadhaar Services” and click on “Aadhaar Lock / Unlock”. Here you will get two options – lock Uid and unlock Uid.
4. Click Lock Uid
Now click on “Lock Uid”. After that, another OTP will arrive on your recorded mobile number. After entering OTP, your Aadhaar number will be locked. This means that no one can reach your bank or other services using your Aadhaar number.
When is the need to unlock the base?
If you have to use the Aadhaar number, like KYC or any government program, you can also unlock it for a while. To do this, click “Unlock Uid”, enter OTP and unlock the base for the fixed time according to your convenience.
The mobile application can also lock / unlock
The Maadhaar application of Uidai is also very useful for this work. You can lock / unlock the base by downloading it to Google Play Store or Apple App Store. The process is almost the same as the website – connect, enter OTP and select Lock / Unlock.

– This installation is only available for those whose mobile number is link to Aadhaar.
– Biometric or OTP -based services will not be used after locating Aadhaar until you unlock it.
– This whole process is free and 24 x 7 is available.
