Trump’s nationalist agenda meshes well with Modi

It’s not news that Donald Trump apparently expressed his “America First” policies during the campaign. Trump’s emphasis on Maga (Make America Great Again) and fewer provisions for American citizenship bears resemblance to the nationalist philosophy proclaimed by Prime Minister Modi to be “ Vikshit Bharat’s goal was incredible. The motto of maximum governance.

The issue of illegal immigration is also another issue. While the U.S. faces the influx mostly from Mexico, we have it from Bangladesh. Now that President Trump has taken a hard line on Mexico, he should appreciate our problems in Bangladesh, Musk’s Bete Noire – the Deep State, has changed the guard Change, the latter installed a puppet regime that was low on its democratic qualifications but high on anti-India and anti-India rhetoric. Now that Trump has taken over, India will be watching with interest what happens in Bangladesh.

What is surprising, however, is Trump’s public attacks on the deep state. Again there are parallels with India, where the American deep state was heavily attacked by BJP parliament members Sudhanshu Trivedi and Sambit Patra in Parliament during their criticism of Rahul Gandhi. The deep state’s influence as seen in collusion with the left has surged under Joe Biden’s term, to the dismay of many Americans who have long viewed communist/socialist ideology as The obsolescence of the American spirit. The belief in God and the concept of the American Dream, fueled by the excitement of individual enterprise, have been etched in the American psyche since the founding of the United States. The Cold War with the Soviet Union further strengthened this spirit.

Currently, the left-leaning craze for the woke movement and its offshoot DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) is not patronizing Trump. One man recalls how his close confidante Elan Musk fumed after his son had a gender change and without telling Musk, he blamed it on the school. This granted DEI course and reacted to the incident by announcing that his son was dead! Trump’s stranglehold on DEI may be seen as a backlash against the deep state that supports the woke agenda.

Walker Doctrine, backed by support for equal outcomes regardless of talent, goes against the ideal of American exceptionalism that has hitherto been touted as a unique feature of American society. Ironically, it was support for heat-based immigration that cost Vivek Ramaswamy his job, despite Maga supporters being more angry about racist prejudice than any concern about American exceptionalism. Trump sacrificed Vivek as a scapegoat to cloud the Maga crowd with complications that have now coalesced over the H1-B visa issue for distinguished immigrants. In this case he could have given a better description of the talent rather than just identifying the wine and waiters! After all, legal immigrants from India are better off than other immigrants and constitute a large portion of professionals, scientists, doctors, software experts, etc. To deny their children the right to acquire US citizenship is a disincentive to Indians Strong attachment to family, Indian immigrants nor the American economy.

On the economic front, Trump’s focus on encouraging domestic businesses and imposing taxes on goods with certain countries facing trade deficits is understandable, but the US has withdrawn from the Paris climate talks and the WHO has indicated that the US Facing acute financial problems, unable to even afford these secondary charities. This withdrawal will hit the image of this great country. This is inconsistent with India’s rather liberal contributions.

What is confusing, however, is the contrast between Trump’s assurances on the affairs of other countries (either militarily or through financial sanctions) on the one hand, and his plans to buy Greenland and induce Canada to become his province on the other. It is a province of Denmark that Canada strongly opposes. The days of Uncle Sam, America should be forgotten in every pie another country bakes. His promises to end the Arab-Israeli wars and the Russian-Ukrainian wars sounded good, but his modus operandi did not inspire much confidence. For now, his calls for Russia to mend fences with Ukraine or face economic sanctions may not be to the liking of equally aggressive President Vladimir Putin, but one hopes for economics in the absence of military action that is unlikely to bring results.
