Under Modi

Until 2014, India was involved in frequent terrorist attacks, threats of insurgency, Naxal attacks, cross-border violence and inefficiency in criminal justice. 11 years later, India’s position was changed – to this, internal security, confidence, resilience and honor must be the “Modi-Shah” doctrine above Rashtra Niti.

This huge improvement in internal security is not a coincidence, but the result of calibration, consistency and courageous leadership that has the political will to make difficult decisions and keep Rashtra Niti above Rajniti. Whether it is terrorism in Jamu and Kashmir, left-wing extremism (LWE), Northeast insurgency or the overhaul of our anti-terrorism building – Modi-Xhaha Zero tolerate policies and reformist approaches have transformed India’s national security environment.

The most important sign of the success of internal security in India is the transformation of Jamu & Kashmir. From a region plagued by frequent stones, separatist movements and terrorist attacks, today’s J&K witnesses unprecedented peace and democracy participation. It has changed from PPP – Pakistani Parasti and Pathar baazi to DDD-Demand-Democy, Development and Desh Bhakti. Today, the Indian Tricolors range from Lal Qila of Delhi to Lal Chowk of Srinagar, Ambedkar’s constitution was implemented from Kashmir to Kanyakumari after the removal of the 370 and 35a artworks.

Terror-related incidents in the valley fell by 69%, from more than 7,200 cases (2004-14) to just 2,242 (2014-24). Civilian deaths fell by 68%, with the stone poison incidents falling from 2,654 in 2010 to zero in 2023. The 2024 parliamentary elections at J&K recorded a historic 63% voter turnout, highlighting the return of the norm.

Operation Sindoor in 2025 is to retaliate against the Pahargam terrorist attack, neutralizing nine terrorist camps and 11 military bases deep inside Pakistan, destroying Lashkar and the harsh command center and giving terrorist state sponsors. It marks the largest counter-terrorism operation in Indian history and reaffirms India’s determination to dismantle terrorism by establishing new normal phenomena.

India’s longest insider threat – left-wing extremism – is systematically suppressed under the leadership of the Modi government. The LWE incident dropped 81% from 1,936 in 2010 to 374% in 2024, and the death toll dropped from 1,005 to around 150. The number of affected areas decreased by 38 (2024) from 126 (2014) to 38 (2024), while the “most affected” areas fell from March 12, 1226 to 2026, and we have already achieved a 2026 rate. Shah.

Actions such as the Black Forest in Chhattisgarh led to neutralization of top Maoist leaders including Basavaraju, the highest Maoist in 30 years. In 2024 alone, 290 Naxals were neutralized, 1,090 were arrested and 881 surrendered.

Northeast India has remained a conflict zone for decades. However, the Modi government’s “Oriental Action” policy changes the trend by focusing on dialogue, development and downgrade. More than a dozen peace agreements were signed with insurgent groups – including Hakata, Kabi, etc. International border disputes, the trials of the Congress government since decades, such as the Assam-Meghalaya and Assam-Arunachal border issues. Most importantly, the AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) was canceled from most parts of the region, which proves the proof of peace and normality. The earlier elections in the Northeast were about bombs, blockades and Banders. Today, the Northeast is about thriving tourism and commerce. During the Modi era, violence in the northeast fell by 68%, with deaths exceeding 60%. Today, the region is more connected, integrated and secure than ever before, where tens of millions of infrastructure projects are implemented and executed. This helps ensure our strategic interests along the route to China. Congressional ministers earlier said the best strategy is to make border areas underdeveloped. The Modi government ensures that border villages and infrastructure are consistent with the best villages in the world.

The government’s strategy is not only strategic or military, but also institutional. The National Bureau of Investigation (NIA) has become the finger of India’s opposition to terror. The NIA has achieved 354 convictions since 2019, including 105 convictions in just 18 months, with a 100% conviction rate in 2024 cases.

More than 660 counter-terrorism attacks were carried out in 2024 alone, targeting the Khalistan and Islamic Jihad modules. This includes sales of cash and digital evidence.

The amendment to the Illegal Activities (Prevention) Act 2019 (UAPA) authorizes the government to designate individuals as terrorists, not just organizations. Now, the list of banned organizations includes 54 outfits, such as ISIS and Khalistan Tiger Force, which tighten the network around the radical network. PFI is also banned. Sadly, some political parties continue to be gentle on this.

Perhaps the government’s most understated achievement is the absence of any major terrorist attacks in urban non-conflict areas, which contrasts with the series of explosions and attacks we have witnessed in the UPA’s 10 years – from Deret to Mumbai, Pune, Pune to Jaipur. Every city was the first to take the brunt and did nothing after 26/11.

Today, our template for reaction to horror has changed. Today, we follow the normal state of “Ghar Me Ghus Ke Marenge”. Combined with a strong multi-layer strategy, namely preemptive intelligence coordination, police modernization plans for modernization of police forces, enhanced border surveillance on CIBMS (Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System), and diplomatic pressure on terrorist sponsoring countries, we are able to ensure a safer Bharat.

Without justice, security is incomplete. The Modi government has launched the ICJ (a viable criminal justice system) to integrate courts, prisons, police and evidence collection. Now, over 90% of police stations in India are connected via CCTN (Crime and Crime Tracking Network System).

Forensic infrastructure has been greatly improved through new laboratories, DNA testing units and modern crime detection tools. UAPA cases and rapid courts for crimes against women have also accelerated judicial service.

Security goes beyond boundaries. India has become a net security provider in the region.

India’s defense exports soared to Rs 23.62 crore in fiscal 2024-25, while projects like the Indigenous airline carrier INS Vikrant signal have enhanced self-reliance. Meanwhile, India has globalized its anti-terrorism narrative, making it the core of international forums such as the United Nations, G20, SCO and BRICS.

The shift in security within India is not only statistical, but psychological and real. Now the world knows that India does not tolerate terror. Citizens feel safer. The red corridor is retreating. Northeast is reconnecting and Jamu & Kashmir is rejoining the national mainstream.

This is not helpless condemnation of India. It is calibrated revenge, institutional reform and strategic vision of India. Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and HM Amit Shah have not only enhanced India’s internal security, but have also redefined India.
