UPI scam: Avoid cyber fraud, important advice to stay away from UPI fraud

In today’s digital age, the use of UPI payment has increased across the country. In each street, each locality, people make a UPI payment via smartphones. However, with its growing use, cyber fraud also increases. The crooks are trying to deceive people with new ways. If you want to avoid these cybercriminals, you must be careful. Let us know some important tips, which can avoid you being the victim of the UPI scam.
1. Avoid false calls
Scammers often call UPI users and adopt frightening methods. They tell you that your credit card is underway, that the electricity bill has not been completed or if a police case may be deposited against you. Due to fear, people are starting to follow the instructions given to them without thinking. They can ask you to download an application, so that they transfer money via your UPI applications.
How to avoid
– Do not enter the words of an unknown necklace.
– For more information on the bank, the electricity service or any other official agency, visit their official website.
– Immediately cut any suspicious call and report it to the respective telephone assistance number.
2. Beware of false parents
Upi thugs adopt another way – they call some parents. They say their phone is damaged, so they call from another number. After that, they ask to transfer money by saying the urgency.
How to avoid
– If a parent requests money from an unknown number, first contact their old number.
– If they say that the phone is damaged, first confirm their identity.
– Do not transfer money to an unknown account without confirmation.

3. Do not go into the trap to double the money
Some crooks claim to double the money in a very short time. They say that if you send a certain amount now, you will get double the amount. It is a completely false scheme and in such cases, people lose their money.

– If someone promises too much profit, it can be a scam.
– Do not trust anyone or the institution without authenticity.
– Get full information before investing and only using trust platforms.
4. Avoid false links and websites
Schools share links to false websites and applications via mail, WhatsApp or social media. When people open these links, they look like UPI applications, but in reality they are scams.
How to avoid
– Check it carefully before clicking on any unknown link.
– Always download the application to the official website or Google Play Store / Apple App Store itself.
– If a suspicious link is found, report it immediately and do not open it.
5. Do not tell anyone OTP)
Another way in the UPI scam is to fly OTP (password once). The crooks try to know your OTP by calling you or by clicking on a link.
How to avoid
– Do not share your OTP with an unknown person.
– Banking or UPI service providers never ask OTP. If anyone does that, it can be a scam.
– If the OTP is accidentally shared with someone, contact your bank immediately.
6. Avoid scanning the unknown QR code
Nowadays, the crooks ask people to scan the unknown QR code. As soon as you scan, your UPI account can be hacked and your money can be removed.
How to avoid
– Do not scan the QR code given by an unknown person.
– Always use the QR code of merchants and trust websites.
– If there is a doubt in a transaction, first carry out an in -depth investigation.
7. Do not share upi with anyone
UPI transactions require a safety pin, which you only know. Several times, crooks can ask for your upi pin with an excuse.
How to avoid
– Do not share Upi Pin with anyone, even if it is a representative of the bank.
– If someone learned of your pin, change it immediately.
Always continue to check the history of your UPI transactions.
