What your post-Holi ‘everything’ shower should look like, according to experts

The colors have settled, the celebrations are over and your camera bread is proof of a well -played Holi. But while the festivities may have finished, your skin and your hair are always struggling with stains, stains born in born, drought and this post-Holi itching. Between prolonged exposure to the sun, synthetic pigments and endless water splashes, the humidity barrier of your skin takes a blow and your hair is not far behind.
“Chemicals in colors combined with prolonged exposure to water and sun can remove your skin from its natural oils, leading to drought. It can also cause irritation, itching and allergic reactions, especially in individuals with sensitive skin, ”explains Dr. Niketa Sonavane, founder of Aesthetics Aesthetics. And although your instinct may be to rub everything at once, an aggressive cleaning can do more harm than good.
That’s why what you do After Holi is just as important as your pre-festival preparation. Recovery is a ritual, not a rinse and here is exactly how to do it – approved by experts.
Body and face
Start with cleaning
Start with cleaning your skin color. “Use a soft oil -based cleaner to remove colors without stripping natural skin oils,” said Dr. Chytra Anand, founder, Kosmoderma & Skinq. According to Dr. Sonavane, any gentle moisturizer will also help remove color residues and skin impurities. If you are looking for a natural cleaner, Dr. Anand recommends mixing the grams flour, water and turmeric in paste and gently rub the mixture on your skin.

Exfoliate
The colors mixed with the natural oils of your skin, dirt, perspiration, water and other impurities can travel deep in your pores and obstruct them. To fight this, Dr. Sonavane recommends exfoliating the skin carefully once after cleaning. “Use a mild exfoliant Rub to relax the dead skin cells and unclog pores – this will also help eliminate persistent particles, ”she says.

Apply a soothing facial mask with ingredients such as aloe vera, cucumber or yogurt to hydrate the skin. Dr. Anand recommends mixing cucumber juice with aloe vera gel to help calm the irritated skin.
Hydrate
Post-Holi skin can become dry and dehydrated, so the two experts recommend finishing your routine with a rich and nourishing moisturizer. “I suggest starting with a moisturizing toner to restore the balance of the pH of the skin, then apply a generous quantity of moisturizer to soothe and hydrate the skin,” adds Dr Anand.
