The report revealed that Meta had prohibited approximately 8.45 million WhatsApp accounts in India, following the provisions of article 4 (1) (d) and article 3a (7) of the Technologies Act information. This step was taken after constant complaints and efforts to increase security.
Meta Reports revealed that the ban had been imposed between August 1 and August 31. Of the total of the forbidden accounts, 1.66 million were blocked due to serious violations, while the remaining account was prohibited after being found suspect in the investigation. Especially during surveillance, more than 1.6 million accounts were prohibited on the complaint of any user because they were poorly used.
