WhatsApp rolls out feature to share music via status updates

New features are introduced in WhatsApp. For some time now, the company has rolled out many new features for the stable version as well as the beta version. Continuing this trend of offering the latest updates, WhatsApp has now rolled out an interesting feature for status updates. With the help of this feature, users can add music of their choice along with photos and videos in status updates. WABetInfo gave information about the feature in the beta version of WhatsApp. WABetInfo spotted this update in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.25.2.5 on Google Play Store.

WABetaInfo, a platform that tracks the latest WhatsApp updates, also shared a screenshot of this new feature. According to the screenshot shared, the company is offering some beta users the ability to add music in status updates. This new option is offered in the drawing editor. In this, users will be able to browse Meta’s vast music collection and add music of their choice to the status update photo or video.

This feature and the music library offered are the same as Instagram, which users have been using for a long time. In this, the user has the option to search and select their favorite songs, artists and trending tracks.

Additionally, according to WABetaInfo’s report, once the song is selected, the user will also have the option to select the part they want to use in the status update. For status updates with photos, users will have the option to add a 15-second music clip. While for video, it will be the duration of the video.

This new feature of WhatsApp, along with the addition of a dynamic audio element to the status update, makes it more attractive to users. While viewing the status update, the user will also see the details of the selected song. By tapping on it, users can visit the Instagram profile of the song artist.
