Why the clean girl aesthetic refuses to die

If the early 2020s could be defined by anything, in terms of style, it would probably be the aesthetics of the clean girl. You know what I’m talking about: all these girls with pink skin with the smooth back bun and the tiny hoop earrings heading towards the gymnasium with a Stanley cut the size of a body and sports socks drawn on yoga leggings. The supporters include, without limiting themselves: Hailey Bieber (famous), Zoë Kravitz during her more out -of -service moments and Kendall Jenner every time she is galve around an airport. In addition, essentially any girl in the smoothie line in Erewhon in Beverly Hills.
As the decade turned, however, it began to seem as if we could be in the middle of a boost, in particular post-peemic when we started to go out properly and to reintroduce the club: Indie Sleaze styles through faux fur jackets and the leopard print, disorderly hair and large black shadows, falling in 3 hours morning or at least look As you did. Think: Charli XCX (“Did the Brat Summer killed the clean girl?” Feel like a ridiculous sentence to type), the Gabbriette Gothy style makeup from the 90s and the distinct atmosphere that you are not in fact not clean but a little dirty, or at least do not bother if you get wine spots on your high white high.
But, although stupidity and chaos are the dominant atmosphere of the median point of the decade, the aesthetics of the clean girl did not seem to go, especially not on the ground – it simply evolved a little, turning into something even more refined and brilliant in the process. Think: wise beauty trends like soap nails and naked manicures and the chic but discreet style of Lila Moss and Lily-Rose Depp. Indeed, the aesthetics of the clean girl is apparently the trend that refuses to die. But why? What is the look of the clean girl whose people don’t seem to have enough? And what does this really imply?
Where does the aesthetics of the clean girl come from?
Anyone who spends an excessive time to look at makeup tutorials on Instagram and YouTube will have noticed that people began to say “the aesthetics of the clean girl” towards the end of 2021, the term accelerating on Google Trends of the following year. As Bieber launched the Rhode in the summer of 2022 – an entire atmosphere shouts (or should I say slowly) aesthetics of the clean girl – the trend had become stratospheric, with everyone suddenly wanting to have the air of an adhesion to Equinox and obtained their eight hours. In the years that followed, the trend has gone from a simple internet thing to be everywhere, the style now becoming central in the way many people dress.
What is the aesthetics of the clean girl?
The keyword that defines the components of the aesthetics of the own girl is “minimalism”. Everything about the trend is sleek and well maintained. Think: natural makeup that does not seem too glamorous or too exaggerated (shiny lips rather than lipstick, subtle highlighter and light roofing background rather than huge substance globes, structured eyebrows as opposed to the thin style of Pamela Anderson).
