World menstrual hygiene day 2025: Today i.e. on May 28, Word Menstrual Hygiene Day is being celebrated. So that women can be made aware about cleanliness during periods. But, a large population of women living in far-flung villages and towns of India still cannot talk openly on menstruation. Due to which they have to face many health problems. In this episode, actress Kareena Kapoor spoke openly on the period on ‘Menstrual Hygiene Day’. Through the post shared on social media, the actress said that in fact periods are not a problem, but it is a lack of awareness.
Menstrual corners are now made in schools
Sharing the pictures on Instagram, the actress praised Gujarat schools and wrote, “Menstrual corners have now been created in schools in Gujarat, which are safe and welcome initiative, where students know and learn about periods through card games, roll-play-plays, interactive models and books.”
Older beliefs broke the conversation on menstruation normal
Kareena further wrote, “The government, along with UNICEF India, has placed a game-changing initiative in schools, which is breaking old beliefs and helping to normalize dialogue about menstruation. With access to more than 1,03,000 girls and 88,000 boys, it is not only raising awareness, but is also building confidence and respect.”
Sandipa Dhar has also made aware
Kareena further wrote in the post, “Periods Friendly World, Let’s keep supporting open conversation and safe environment for every student. Menstruation matters.” Before Kareena, actress Sandipa Dhar told that every small step matters. In such a situation, we should talk openly about menstruation.
Nimrat Kaur also spoke openly on menstruation
Regarding periods hygiene, Nimrat Kaur had said that menstruation is an essential, natural and important part of any woman’s health. Still it is wrapped in silence. People do not talk about this, girls feel hesitant, especially in backward areas. Dividing things related to menstruation in these places will benefit.
